Unrestrained Reserve is a special wine made each vintage in 125 case productions. David Yorgensen, our winemaker, tastes each of the 200 barrels of red wine in our winery on a monthly basis to monitor the quality and development of the wine. After tasting each barrel 18 times, he selects out his favorite few barrels of wine and then blends them just to taste to create the best wine we can each vintage. The name "Unrestrained Reserve" comes from the fact that David is not restrained by either varietal (anything he wants to blend) or vineyard proportion (only 125 cases made) and it is a reserve wine made in such a limited quantity as to not affect the quality of our other wines signficantly.
The 2006 Unrestrained Reserve is 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 49% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Merlot.
