2014 Romance Blend - $68
O’Brien Estate makes three creative proprietary blends, the least expensive of which is the 2014 Proprietary Red Blend Romance of the Heart, a blend of 48% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Cabernet Franc. A delicious, seductive style of wine, with a dense ruby/purple color, some notes of vanillin, licorice, forest floor, blackcurrants and cherries, loads of spice, some background wood and a full-bodied, luscious mouthfeel, this is a beauty to drink over the next 10-15 years. It is a fairly priced sleeper of the vintage. ~ The Wine Advocate
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Passion) - $98
A larger cuvée of 1,300 cases is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Passion of the Soul. Notes of chocolaty, dense cassis fruit, some spice box and licorice all jump from the glass of this inky purple-colored wine. The tannins are sweet and soft, and the wine full-bodied, round and layered. This is impressive wine to drink over the next 15-20 years. ~ The Wine Advocate
2014 Reserve Chardonnay - $75
The 2014 Reserve Chardonnay, aged for 18 months on 100% new French Oak, delights the senses with ripe pear, caramel, and a toasty oak. The opulent mouthfeel is big and bold, with a protracted and pure finish doused with pomaceous fruit, vanilla, and spice. ~ David Yorgensen, Winemaker
